Heather Gauthier has combined the best of two worlds—her decade spent living in Chicago and Africa—into her current show.

Her whimsical artwork features giraffes in hats, elephants bearing cupcakes, and cats wearing flower pots (just to name a few). It is all about juxtaposition: coupling frivolity with the exotic. Heather’s menagerie includes elephants, giraffes, llamas, cats, and bison with the addition of a carnival of color, flowers, and frippery.

Heather and her family now reside in San Antonio. She works from her home studio and has regular gallery showings, cafe shows, as well as a permanent collection hanging at the children’s museum in San Antonio. She has been featured on the PBS program ARTS, HGTV and the Home Companion magazine. Her art is highly sought after by collectors and animal lovers alike.
