This is our third show with photographer Mike Rivera. Mike’s new show is all about giving back—all proceeds will go to Cornerstone Community Outreach, a local homeless shelter. All photographs are framed and wall-ready!

Though many of the photos depict Uptown, the show also includes a few taken from assignments from all over the world. The show is vintage Rivera in his use of popping colors and unusual angles. Mike is able to take ordinary moments and make them feel extraordinary. From his other shows we’ve come to expect bold color choices that recast the every day in a new way. In this new show we have Airstreams, VW buses, and gleaming “L” cars catching the last light of day. “This is some of my favorite work. I really want to raise awareness for CCO and the homeless.”

Mike grew up in Dallas, Texas where he briefly attended college. There he discovered his passion for dynamic photography. He eventually received his bachelor’s in Visual Journalism from Western Kentucky University. Since then he has worked in New York City, Japan, and southeast Texas. After moving to Chicago five years ago to work in the photo department of the Chicago Tribune, he now is a freelance commercial photographer, where he is in constant demand. Our last show for 2019,  Americana will launch us into a new year.
